Teletherapy

Teletherapy, Virtual therapy, and/or videoconferencing counseling services are best utilized by clients who demonstrate an ability for appropriate self-care and management. Teletherapy, Virtual therapy, and videoconferencing services are not appropriate media for clients in need of immediate help. Clients who demonstrate any type of propensity for harm to self or others will be referred to an appropriate crisis center. Clients who believe they are in need of immediate assistance should call their local crisis center, dial 911, go to the nearest emergency room or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-784-2433. In the event a client does not meet the criteria for Teletherapy, online virtual therapy, and/or videoconferencing services will be referred to an appropriate crisis care center and/or moved to an in-office format at the discretion of their treating therapist at Step by Step Counseling Ministries & Services. Limited in office services are available and each client will be assessed to determine which method is most suitable.
